Contract for the sale of a new vehicle

A pad of 50 single page A4 size contract forms in triplicate.  Each form consists of a top white page over one blue and one pink impregnated carbon copy.  These forms allow the dealer to retain copies of the actual signature of the customer.  The conditions of the contract are explained clearly on the back of each page.

 

Contract for the sale of a second-hand vehicle

A pad of 50 single page A4 size contract forms with impregnated carbon duplicates - Form 10 is a contract for the sale of a second-hand vehicle. Section 160 of the Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Act requires that a contract by a dealer to sell a second-hand motor vehicle must be in writing in the prescribed form (Form 10) which must be prepared in duplicate.

 

Contract excluding statutory warranties

A single A4 page with an impregnated carbon duplicate - Form 12 is a contract between the dealer and the purchaser of a vehicle.  It excludes a dealer from being liable for repairs to a vehicle during the statutory warranty period.  Under this contract, the purchaser agrees not to take any action against the dealer to enforce obligations to make good certain defects which appear or occur in the vehicle (including a defect existing at the time of sale) during the warranty period.  Form 12 must be witnessed by a Police Officer or an officer authorised by the Commissioner for Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading.

 

Section 169(4) of the Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Act states that if a purchaser intends to purchase a motor vehicle under a contract of sale which excludes the liability of the dealer for repairs to the vehicle during the statutory warranty period, the purchaser must sign a document in the prescribed form (Form 12) which must be prepared in duplicate.

 

Contract excluding condition that motor vehicle of standard fit for registration

A single A4 page with an impregnated carbon duplicate - Form 11 is a contract between a dealer and a purchaser who have entered into a separate contract for the sale and purchase of a vehicle which is not fit for registration.

 

Section 165 of the Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Act places a condition on the sale of a motor vehicle by a dealer that the vehicle must be fit to be registered.  To remove that condition, a contract in duplicate in the prescribed form (Form 11) must exist alongside the contract for sale and purchase.

 

Dealer's Authorization to sell (consignment)

A single A4 page with an impregnated carbon duplicate - Form 13 is an authorisation by the owner of a vehicle to allow the dealer to sell the owner's vehicle on consignment.  The authorisation describes the terms of the consignment and specifies the dealer's commission.  It provides that the dealer must pay to the owner the proceeds from the sale of the vehicle within 14 days after the date of the sale of the vehicle.

 

Section 172 of the Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Act requires that a dealer must, before offering or displaying a motor vehicle for sale on behalf of another person or selling a motor vehicle on behalf of another person, be authorised by that person to do so in the prescribed form (Form 13) which must be prepared in duplicate.

 

Authority to tow and invoice book

A pad of 50 forms in triplicate.  Each form consists of a white original for the owner, a green impregnated carbon duplicate for accounts and a yellow impregnated carbon book copy. 

 

Vehicle sales tax invoice

A pad of 50 vehicle sales tax invoices with impregnated carbon duplicates - A4 size.

GST/PAYG statement

This statement is to be completed by the supplier (owner) and recipient (dealer) of a traded-in vehicle.

Rego Reminder Labels

MTA (NT) Rego Reminder labels, sold in packs of 50. These can be onsold to your clients to remind them when their rego is due.

Diary - MTA Year

Each year MTA offers an A4 sized hardcover leatherette executive diary.  Features include day to a page, 15 minute appointment intervals, year planner, stall leave planner, all NT public and school holidays, important local telephone numbers.

MTA Diaries are not available to non-members.

 

Job cards

A pad of 100 job cards which customer contact and vehicle information can be recorded along with instructions from the customer relating to the work to be performed.  Each job card indicates the repairs that are to be carried out on a specified vehicle and has space for the signature of the customer who is agreeing to the work being carried out.  On the back of the card, details of materials used and time spent on the job can be recorded as well as a report from the mechanic.

Job cards are not available to non-members.

 

Vehicle use register

The driver of any vehicle that is owned by a business should enter details of the time and date the vehicle was taken and returned.

 While the driver is in possession of the vehicle, the driver is responsible for any speeding fines or demerit points accrued. If the business cannot prove who was driving at the time that a demerit points offence occurred, the business (if a body corporate) will pay a fine five times the amount that an individual would have paid.

The vehicle use register records make/model, registration number, driver name and address, licence number, vehicle out (time, date, signature) and vehicle in (time, date, signature). 

This register is not available to non-members.
